Salt-Water Disposal


In oil and gas, Salt-Water Disposal (SWD) wells play a critical role in the proper disposal of produced water to comply with existing regulations. In today’s market, rising demand for SWD is placing additional risk and cost on operators. SWD tagged water is increasing in volume with lower reuse options, and the quality of produced water is deteriorating due to reductions in chemical spend at the central oil and gas processing facilities. Produced water arriving at SWD wells for processing can contain higher amounts of total dissolved solids and total suspended solids which drive up costs, limit allowable injection pressures, and increase the risks of injector failure.
